About our lotion bars:

Made with nature derived plant oils and butters like Mango, Jojoba, Hemp and Grapeseed, for a solid bar that melts on contact. Lotion bars provide lasting moisturization and convenience for frequently washed hands and are a great way to hydrate your skin all while keeping plastic wastes out of our oceans. They come in a convenient tin that can be used time and time again.

The best part about our lotion bars.... they contain no harsh chemicals or preservatives! With liquid lotion typically consisting of about 70-80% water, there would be a number of chemicals and preservatives required to keep the product from going rancid with mold and bacteria.  While the addition of water in lotion works to hydrate your skin, excess water can result in a thinner and lighter lotion with fewer skin benefits. Lotion bars on the other hand contain absolutely no water, which results in a more effective, health-conscious choice, free from potentially hazardous chemicals found in liquid lotion products, such as phthalates, parabens, formaldehyde, para-aminobenzoic acid (PABA), ethanolamines, and petroleum. Not to mention the amount of skin loving benefits you will receive without a watered-down product!

Ingredients:

Mango Butter: Nourishes skin and boosts its elasticity, resulting in reducing the appearance of fine lines and tightening skin. Mango butter is also packed full of amazing nutrients which makes it a natural anti-inflammatory.

Jojoba Oil (cold-pressed): Full of nutrients like vitamin E and B as well  as antioxidants and minerals like chromium, copper, and zinc. Boost collagen, provides substantial amount of hydration and helps protect the skin from damage caused by free radicals. 

Hemp Oil: Rich in vitamins A,C,E, and F, as well as fatty acids- that strengthen the outer layer of our skin so it can preserve water. Helps to nourish the skin all while preventing flakiness and itchiness. A fantastic relief for those who suffer from acne, psoriasis, eczema and atopic dermatitis as it promotes the growth of new healthy skin cells.

Grapeseed Oil: Contains natural antimicrobial and antifungal properties. This lightweight oil is absorbed easily through the first several layers of your skin, delivering intense moisture without leaving skin feeling oily or greasy. It is a great aide in relieving breakouts as it whisks excess sebum to unclog pores and works wonders on lightening dark spots.

Beeswax: The star ingredient that makes this lotion bar a lotion bar. Not only does beeswax help harden all the skin loving beneficial oils for easier use but also hydrates, conditions, soothes and calms the skin. Creates a hydrating, long-lasting protective barrier to lock moisture in and keeping harmful pollutants out.

Arrowroot Powder: Has a mattifying effect on the skin, although great at locking in moisture, arrowroot powder is essential to overcome the greasy feel in many products, leaving a silky and satiny finish and can be easily applied. 

Fun Fact: Our skin is the largest organ of the human body and thus making it one of the most complex. It is able to absorb 60%-70% of whatever is placed on the surface, pending on the molecular size. Knowing this, it is essential to know what we use is safe and free from harmful chemicals and detergents.

So what sets our soaps apart from many of the big commercial brands?

Oils and butters derived from straight from mother earth tend to be more on the expensive side. Many of the commercial brand soaps contain harmful chemicals, synthetic detergents and carcinogens, all of which can irritate and dry out your skin not to mention, put your health in harm’s way! These harmful ingredients are often used in soaps and many other beauty products in place of the nourishing natural ingredients in order to keep costs down for themselves as well as their consumers. Soap making is a science in itself. There are many different oils and butters that help with the many aspects of what makes a bar of soap, well, a bar of soap. Moisturizing, protecting, lathering, cleanliness and even the hardness of a bar are some to name a few. But if there is a chemical or detergent that can do the same thing for half of the cost, unfortunately then this route is taken in more cases then not. For example; Glycerin is a compulsory ingredient in soap, and in hand made soaps glycerin is created during the making process. It serves as an excellent humectant and hygroscopic agent. Which means this nourishing biproduct of the natural soap making process settles in between the soap molecules and will attract moisture and draws it deep into your skin to keep it hydrated. The low pH due to glycerin makes sure your skin remains fresh throughout the day . But there is a high cost to pay for glycerin and in many cases, commercial soap companies will completely extract this product from their soaps to be used for other products such as gels, serums and lotions. This makes your skin dry and flaky over a course of time. So, the customers are forced to buy soap for cleansing and another product for moisturizing. Kind of a double negative, don’t you think? We care about what we use on our skin and the ingredients it takes to make our products.
